Occupational Therapy: Job outline

Occupational therapy is a holistically oriented treatment which includes psychological, educational and social aspects.

A basic assumption of this treatment is that people have a fundamental need to be active, and that purposeful activity has a therapeutic effect.

A complete picture of the life circumstances of the patient is essential before the most suitable therapy and corresponding activities can be planned. Close monitoring of progress during treatment allows an individual programme to be designed to optimise the healing process.

Medically prescribed occupational therapy is reimbursed by the social insurance institutions and health insurance companies
