Outline of the profession
With a degree in Mechanical Engineering Informatics from a university of applied sciences you will be active in one of the following areas, according to your interests and preferences:
- Planning and implementation of the networked and comprehensive use of information technology systems in product development and production
- Development and application of computer programs and simulation tools
- Planning of machines, installations and processes
- Configuration of measurement equipment and creation of programs to evaluate data
- Automation of devices, machines and installations
- Support of EDP systems for technical applications
- Sales and training
On completion of your studies in the Degree Programme in Mechanical Engineering Informatics you will in many cases be employed as a project leader. You will be competent to apply the knowledge of informatics tools and engineering which you have acquired at the university in practical mechanical engineering situations.
