With a Swiss diploma

a) The entrance examination can be waived for those who have the following diplomas or qualifications:

- Professional Baccalaureate (Berufsmatura) and basic training in a profession related to the area of study

- Cantonal or State Baccalaureate (Matura); or 3 years’ attendance at a sixth form college specializing in business or trade (Diplom-, Wirtschafts- or Handelsmittelschule), and at least one year’s professional experience in a field related to the selected study area

For certain degree programmes such as

passing an aptitude test is also necessary.
Further information can be found in the admission requirements of these degree programmes.

b) If you do not hold a Professional Baccalaureate, Cantonal or State Baccalaureate, or Sixth Form College Diploma, or Baccalaureate: you can normally be admitted after passing the entrance examination. You can also take preparatory courses to prepare you for the entrance examination.

Foreign diplomas
If you have studied abroad, you must submit documentation and prove that you have an adequate knowledge of German.
If you transfer to the ZHW from another university, you must satisfy the following requirements:

normal admission requirements (see above)

completion of preparatory studies in a related study area.

Applicants are responsible for filling possible gaps from previous semesters in their transcripts. Please use the normal application form (pdf, 26 kb), and indicate which semester you wish to enrol in.
